Best Wishes to all of you.
The workshops are designed and developed by Genres Pluriels asbl vzw. They are animated by Franck Timbal, dancer and community development worker, and co-animated by Max Nisol, psychologist.
Programme
Part 1 - Cocktail-style Workshop (as in 2009):
It aims at generating well-being, relaxation and pepping up with participants through the common development and practice of body expression activities.
It is open to everyone but more specifically for people who are questioning themselves about their own gender identity. It requires no previous practice nor experience in sports, body expression or art expression.
The standing or floor activities - whether sitting or lying down - call on techniques from movement and stage arts, gymnastics, aesthetic forms of martial arts, as well as from yoga and tai-chi-chuan.
For relaxing, muscular exercise and touch restimulation the workshop also teaches you to perform well-being and stimulating self-massages.
Part 2 - Thematic Workshop (2010):
From January to March, the Workshop Body Continuum invites you to explore our social living spaces, whether close or remote, whether daily or occasional, while asking ourselves: What are these spaces to every one of us? How are they organised in our day-to-day manner? How do we organise them individually or collectively? And above all, how do we interact with and in our spaces by means of what we truly are: our bodies?
In accordance with the values and objectives of Genres Pluriels, we will take on to (re)discover our relationships to our spaces through gradual search and stimulating activities, which we will be developing together
Useful Tips
Wear comfortable clothes, ideally sportswear or dance clothing. We will be leaning, lying down, sitting and constantly on the move. Steer clear of tight clothing or tight-seamed clothes.
We will invite you to take off your shoes at the entrance of the practice room and put adapted ones on, such as dancing or sport shoes. No socks please (you will slip off) and no bare feet (floor scraping often causes burns and bruises).
The activities bring movement synchronisation and coordination, space orientation, left and right and balance into practice. Avoid drinking alcohol or absorbing similar function distorting substances within the half day of the workshop.
Bring in a bottle of water to quench your thirst between activities and during the break. Your physical work would not require energy drinks, except if you like them of course.
In order to build a maximal well-being out of the workshop and no inconvenient experience, think of eating properly about two hours in advance. You will then be able to gush enough energy into activities while not passing out…
Entrance: Open fee, just pay how much you wish and how much you can
